I decided to listened to the Vakarran Captives Box Set since I knew Sara Fields would be hot. And she did not disappoint. The Vakarran Captives Series is sometimes dark but not too dark. And the perpetrators get their due if dark and violent. I loved how protective all the guys were, how strong all the sisters are and the the amazing series finale. This box set is the perfect way to experience this series. See below for reviews on each book. Book 1: Conquered Genre: Romance, SciFi, Alien, RH, BDSM, Forced Submission, DubCon Standalone: Yes POV: Kira, Zaavyr, Jax, Coltan, & Aedan Steam Level: Hot 4/5 Conquered is the first book in the Vakarran Captives series. I enjoyed this book and was exactly what I wanted – it’s an easy listen with plenty of steam, a strong female main character and four fierce, loyal aliens who love Kira because of her independence. They also enjoy teaching her how to enjoy the benefits of submission. Overall this story was light and a lot of fun. Book 2: Mastered Genre: Romance, SciFi, Alien, RH, BDSM, Forced Submission, DubCon Standalone: Yes POV: Alaina, Ryder, Aarom, Morgn, and Davon Steam Level: Toasty 4/5 Mastered is the second book in the Vakarran Captives series. While it’s a standalone there is some Vakarran mythology and rumors surrounding Alaina’s missing sister that if you read book one you’d know whether or not is true. With the exception of Kira being a fighter, it’s not really relevant to this story it’s just fun for readers who are reading this series in order. Mastered starts out after Alaina’s older sister Kira goes missing. After some time Alaina remembers Kira’s traps and security cameras and goes to check them out to see what happened. Alaina then sets her own trap and gets more than she bargained for when she too is captured. Ryder, Aarom, Morgn, and Davon are all different and all provide Alaina with different needs. Mastered is a perfect steamy listen that you don’t need to pay a lot of attention to but keeps your attention nonetheless. Book 3: Ravaged Genre: Romance, SciFi, Alien, RH, BDSM, Forced Submission, DubCon Standalone: Yes POV: Danika, To an, Zandaar, Zac, Taraik Steam Level: Toasty 5/5 Ravaged is the third book int he Vakarran Captives series. While technically a standalone I highly recommend reading at the second (Mastered) book prior to this one. Also the epilogue has a teaser of what’s to come in the finale of this series. Ravaged begins with a darker, but not graphic, sexual element that leaves Danika traumatized. As a result her four Vakarran’s are more gentle and aware of her fragile state. However as they help her heal she becomes a fierce warrior on her own. I can’t wait to see how this series will conclude. Book 4: Subdued Genre: Romance, SciFi, Alien, RH, BDSM, Forced Submission, DubCon POV: Kaela, Tavik, Zane, Valdus, and Caleb Steam Level: hot 5/5 Kaela is the last sister to be captured. But this is different as the guys know who she is and where to find her. They say her that her sisters told them where to find her. Except her sisters wouldn’t give up her location, would they? Kaela reluctantly starts of a journey with the four Vakarran toward Atlanta and her future. Along the way she gets to them, herself and starts to develop some alien abilities. Subdued is an epic batter for freedom and the planet. Everything comes together in an epic climax and reveal. What a great ending to this series! I received this audiobook for free from Audiobooks Unleashed. This is my honest and voluntary review.
