Today, I’m smoking it up with my favorite cigar maker, “My Father”, and today it’s the Jamie Garcia Reserva especial toro, and here’s what I’m tasting. After a cut and a light, I got a peppery retro hale, chocolate immediately came forward. The retro instantly became smooth and almost creamy. No pepper or spice to mention. A light coffee mixed in with a good smoke output. There’s also a flavor in the retro that’s interesting, its like a peanut butter cracker. There’s also a dark floral note, which I hope isn’t a Bethune manipulation. Coming into the second third this cigar has added a sweetness and is getting better by the puff. The chocolate definitely stands out. The retro is also full of chocolate now. This has one of the smoothest retros I’ve ever found. I can see this cigar being a fan favorite. I find myself smoking it too fast because it’s just so good. I want to retro every puff because the flavors just amplify. The flavor profile is consistent here at the end of the second third. I know I’m ordering more of these. Here in the final third, it’s still giving up that milk chocolate but it has added a slightly bitter dark tobacco flavor. Overall this cigar was off the hook with that chocolate, very enjoyable. My experience on this was like having a desert instead of smoking a cigar. Definitely box worthy. I smoked this down to a half an inch, and just couldn’t get enough of it. I can’t wait to get another one. My score on this came out to a 95.
