The Knitted Tie

Crafted from the finest Italian silk, the timeless accessories seamlessly blend a rich history, unparalleled versatility, and exceptional quality. As we delve into the captivating realm of Viola Milano knitted ties, prepare to be enthralled by their luxurious charm.

Editor's Note

At Viola Milano we love to play around with texture in our personal style. Wether it is a crunchy silk or a soft wool, a knit tie is a perfect way to add some rugged elegance to any outfit. A navy knit tie will go equally well with a three piece heavy tweed in winter, as it will with your favourite washed cotton jacket in summer. If you prefer even more texture than you get from a solid knit tie, have a look at beautiful our zigzag or tone-to-tone knits as well. All our knitted ties start with a width of 7 cm up to 9 cm for “Su Misura” ties.

KNIT TIES

Viola Milano Knitted ties is woven and finished by hand in our own mill in Como. We offer a wide range of designs, patterns, materials & colors – mostly made exclusively for Viola Milano. We mix our old looms from early 50’s with some new super technology looms to reach the ultimate quality and finishing.

--><!-- A fascinating insight into Britains built heritage and the diverse housing styles of the twentieth and twenty-first century. This book showcases 100 houses one from each year from 1914 that represent the range of architectural styles throughout the years and show how housing has adapted to suit urban life. Each house is accompanied by stunning photography and texts written by leading architectural critics and design historians, including Gavin Stamp, Elain Harwood, Barnabas Calder, Ellis Woodman and Gillian Darley. From specially commissioned architect-designed houses for individuals and for families to housing built for increased workforces, each of the 100 houses brings a different design style or historical story. There are houses built as part of garden cities, semi-detached suburban houses, housing estates, eco-houses, almshouses, converted factories and affordable post-war homes. The architectural styles encompass mock Tudor, modernist, Arts & Crafts and brutalist and the featured architects include Giles Gilbert Scott, Walter Gropius, Edwin Lutyens, Powell and Moya and David Chipperfield. The book also contains essays that explore the social and political aspects of housing design in Britain over the last 100 years, looking at the impact the World Wars had on housing, exploring domestic technology and building materials and asking how the modern house came about. Whether exploring Grayson Perrys folly-like House for Essex, Patrick Gwynnes modernist glass villa in Surrey, Sarah Wigglesworths Straw Bale House or Simon Conders black rubber-clad fishermans hut in Dungeness, this book gives a glimpse into the wonderful housing in Britain and is a must-have for all fans of design history and architecture.
