I rate this cigar at 91. Purchased 5 pac from Cigars Daily. Paired with Yuengling beer. Smoke @ 60% humidity. Will be even better with age. The K-Fire by Karen Berger pays homage to the powerful heat that produces well fermented tobacco in pilones. On average, a single pilon can weight 2,000 – 3,500 pounds. The tobacco is stacked in such a way that it naturally heats itself to temperatures of up to 150 degrees! The K-Fire uses well fermented Mexican San Andres wrapper with Ecuador Habano binder to produce a dark chocolatey flavor profile. The blend offers notes of spice, earth, cinnamon, sweetness, and chocolate. Length In Inches 6 Ring Gauge 52 Shape Toro Wrapper Mexico, San Andres Binder Ecuador, Habano Filler Nicaragua Strength Medium-Full Country of Origin Nicaragua Cigar Brand Karen Berger FIRST THIRD Starts with notes of spicy pepper and nuts which dominate the retro-hale. Early on, the addition of cocoa and dark chocolate. The profile develops a dry fruity essence with nuanced cinnamon sweetness. Medium flavor and surprisingly not as spicy as name would have suggested. Ash is rich flaky white and chunky. Burn is a touch wavy but self corrected. 1 relight. Medium-full bodied smoke and medium strength. Good draw. SECOND THIRD Transitioning into the second third, subtle caramel undertones emerge. The cocoa evolves into a darker, more intense chocolate. Towards the end of the second third, undertones of maple syrup. Retrohale is primarily cocoa and spice with hints of cinnamon and dried fruit. The interplay of sweetness and spice is very complex. Flavor profile medium plus. Smoke is thick creamy and medium-full bodied. Ash remains flaky and chunky white. Burn is straight. Strength is medium plus. Clean finish. Spiciness muted with lager beer! Great mix. FINAL THIRD As the cigar draws to a close, sweetness and spice lead the way although flavor strength is mild . Undertones are earthiness with hints of coffee beans. Retrohale is spice which has increased. Medium plus body with creamy smoke texture and wavy burn. Ash is flaky and chunky. Strength is medium plus. Clean finish throughout. Overall a pleasant cigar! Very surprising that it was NOT as firey as the name suggests! Worth a try! Aging the rest will only make this a better smoke.
