Description Dwarf Sagittaria subulata Sold in a grouping of 3 plants. each plant usually has 2 to 5 blades per plant. Dwarf Sagittaria subulata is a small, spreading plant that works very well in a slower growth, lower light, planted community. It is bright green and looks like blades of grass. Dwarf Sag is one of only a few plants that will grow into a nice carpet in these conditions. In lower light, it will tend to grow taller and under high light it will stay much shorter. It still requires patience, but especially if given a nutritious substrate, and allowed time, it will develop into a beautiful dense ground cover. This can be achieved by using a substrate fertilizer tab. Dwarf Sag does not require co2 but, as with all aquarium plants, it will grow much faster. It is one of the few plants that can tolerate hard or alkaline water making it a great beginner friendly carpeting aquatic plant. Dwarf sag spreads by shooting off runners with small plantlets.
