The village of San Juan y Martinez,located in the centre of the Vuelta Abajo zone,is where Hoyo de Monterrey had its start. The town's main centre has a gate that reads,Hoyo de Monterrey. Jose Gener. 1960. This gate leads to the Hoyo de Monterrey plantation,one of the great Vegas de Primera. A classy little cigar with a respectable 38 ring gauge that's ideal for smoking in the morning. Before the Montecristo Open J joined it in 2009,it was the sole cigar of this size in the Havana line for a long time. It has excellent fruity,peppery,and mineral colours.
